This session just may be one of my all time favorite maternity portrait sessions. I love photographing this sweet family. Megan always has a plan complete with a schedule and outfits to boot. Right up my alley!
I loved photographing her baby belly when she was pregnant with Liam and all of his milestone sessions. His cake smash was right up there in my favorites list too.
This time..it’s a girl and Megan is simply glowing! Her little belly is so perfectly round that I had to move to a side angle a couple of times because the angle I was at made her look like she wasn’t even pregnant. We should all be so lucky right?
On today’s Pay-it-Forward Friday I am so excited to introduce you to Elizabeth of La Couture d’Elizabeth. I don’t know about you but her business name alone gives me visions of love and photos of beautiful girls in amazing gowns set against Springtime in Paris and the Eiffel Tower. Let’s all take a moment to daydream of ourselves for a moment in that setting strolling with the love our life in our perfect custom creation by Elizabeth shall we?
Elizabeth owns a clothing design and alterations company specializing in custom gown designs on a budget. Her passions is creating a bride’s dream gown without breaking the bank. She can create semi-custom gowns using your measurements to fit the perfect dress and can even do so for out-of-town brides using video chat for consultations.
Elizabeth loves working with brides to achieve their dream gown whether that means altering an existing gown or creating one from scratch within their budget. She can also create the perfect prom dress or other formal you might need.
When she’s not busy sewing or getting tangled in thread Elizabeth loves coconut lattes and has a parrotlet – the tiniest parrot you can get. Her name is Alice after Alice in Wonderland! She also has a chihuahua-terrier mix named Mike and her all time favorite movie is You’ve got mail!
That just makes me giggle. I can hear the dial-up sound in the back of my mind and see Tom Hanks running away from Meg Ryan in that little coffee shop as I type this. I love that movie too and chihuahuas although I’m partial to mine. He he

There is nothing more special for a family photographer, or any other photographer for that matter, than having the privilege of photographing another photographer. Julie is a not only a photographer (check out her work here) but she is also an amazing makeup artist and her daughter is on my Top Model Team. I was super excited to photograph her crew!
We held their session Thanksgiving weekend by the beautiful ponds in front of Gleannloch Farms subdivision off Spring Cypress. I hadn’t been there before and was looking forward to a new photographic adventure. The other great thing about taking photos of a photographers family is the kids are used to being on the other end of the lens. How adorable are these two? Soooo precious! At one point during our session Julie’s love was behind me taking pictures of her from over my shoulder. How adorable is that? He is so smitten. It’s just so sweet!
Thank you Julie! I had such fun and I can’t wait for our next collaboration!
Buying a digital camera can be very confusing especially if you’ve never bought one before. There are so many of them out there and more choices than the gazillion coffee combinations at Starbucks. Not to worry my friend…I’ve written a guide to help you find your way through the digital forest.
One of the best places to start your adventure is to ask yourself some fundamental questions.
What will you be photographing most?
What do you need your camera to do for you?
What is your level of experience?
Do you need a basic point & shoot or an advanced camera?
All of this and more is here is included in the FREE guide! Just fill in the information below and you’ll receive a download link to the guide (and more)!
Wishing you a joyful camera purchase adventure and a very Merry Christmas!
The Sutherland family is new to Montgomery after having moved from Florida right here to the Birthplace of the Texas flag. We held their session at the Charles B. Stewart Library & Fernland Park which is always a gorgeous venue. They were so much fun! Not only are they a beautiful family full of love and laughter but they were so cute wanting to be photographed in front of the Historical Building signs over at Fernland Park.
The Park was overflowing with photographers and families during our session but they patiently waited their turn…just for that shot. During our session I learned that Dad loves cobbler and Mom is a weather bug and loves watching weather. I just love learning details about the little things that make a family…..well….family. The girls are just gorgeous and glow from the inside out. You can tell as soon as you meet them that they are beautiful people. The oldest, Hannah, was home from college in Florida for Thanksgiving and was obviously enjoying every minute with her parents and sisters. Rachel, the middle sister, is hoping to go to UT and wouldn’t you know it? We found a longhorn statue to photograph her in front of. Baby sister, Lauryn, is cute as a button and clearly adored by her older sisters. If you don’t believe me, I have the photographic evidence to prove it!
They were so wonderful to work with and I’m grateful that Hannah found me. Merry Christmas Sutherland family! Thank you for choosing me to be your family photographer.
This little angel surprised Mom & Dad just before Thanksgiving by making her grand entrance in to the world three weeks early. She probably just decided that she didn’t want to miss Thanksgiving & Christmas although she put Mommy through 32 hours of labor or so before she finally made up her mind for sure.

If there was ever a little girl born into a house full of love, it’s little Meredith. The whole family anxiously awaited her arrival. She’s the tie breaker in a family of two girls and two boys and every one of them is totally smitten with her. Most especially Dad. Her tiny little 5lb 10oz finger already has Daddy wrapped all the way around it. She’s smitten with Dad too and his calming voice and touch soothed her back to sleep during our entire session.
Thank you Michelle & Connor for allowing me to share this special time with you. I am so excited for all of her photo sessions this year.
