It’s unusual to meet couples who have been together for 5 years or more before tying the knot. Emma & Josh waited exactly that long for this day…their 5th dateaversary…their wedding day. It doesn’t get any more special than that. Their relationship started when Emma saw Josh at a High School football game and thought he was the cutest thing since sliced bread. Fast forward five years later and today they will meet each other at the end of the aisle, surrounded by their family and friends.
I loved the family aspect of their wedding but I also loved Emma’s dad’s reaction when he saw her for the first time. Emma decided she wanted to do a mini-reveal in just for him while tucked away in the beautiful chapel dressing room at Magnolia Bells. Her beautiful bridesmaids all formed a line in front of him and her father, Bill, was ushered in, eyes closed. His reaction still makes me tear up I could tear up just thinking about it. Truly a priceless moment as the girls separated and he saw his beautiful baby girl, now a beautiful grown woman and soon to be wife. There were so many sweet moments that happened throughout Emma + Josh’s day!Emma’s bridesmaids were so beautiful and so much fun that I kept telling them we need to schedule a photo shoot, just for them! They were hilarious! Their love, energy and excitement for Emma on her wedding day was contagious!! Fun bridesmaids make the entire day so special and so much fun!! Two of them made me giggle during the reception when they came up to me requesting that I photograph them “twirling” in their dresses. The groomsmen were also fun and the groom’s little brother, Joe, stole the day with his proud strut down the aisle, antics and break dancing at the reception.
I’m so excited to share my favorite images from this wedding! Stay tuned until the end to see even more in their video. Without further adieu…enjoy!
This venue is so beautiful! One of these days I’m going to be able to shoot it when it’s not rainy weather. 😛
One of the many special features for couples at Magnolia Bells is a beautiful lock wall for couples so they can leave a special treasure from their day. I love that! It reminds me of the lock bridge in Paris.
Emma had Josh’s ring engraved.
When the groom doesn’t really like photos but he nails it anyway. WIN!
Thank you Emma & Josh for letting us share your special day! May your future together be long and happy!
A childhood home holds many special memories. Katy’s childhood home is a traditional Southern home surrounded by beautiful acreage, family and lots of love. Backyard weddings are wonderfully unique from other types of weddings. They are so relaxed and welcoming. It seemed only fitting that they would start their new life together in a place that they hold so dear to their hearts.
Katy and Joe said “I Do” in the pasture nearest her home. Katy and her bridesmaids (which happened to be her beautiful twin sisters) giggled as they dressed and shared mimosas in her mother’s room….the same room they had known practically their whole lives.
There are moments that planning a backyard wedding can be overwhelming but as soon as you take that first step down the aisle, the hard work and stress is forgotten because you’re about to marry the love of your life!
The backdrop that they hand built using old wood from her Grandmother’s barn was breathtaking and the bench her Mother hand made for them out of a bed frame was something straight out of Southern Living Magazine!
Katy & Joe’s ceremony was amazing & I didn’t want it to end! Their love for one another is so visible in the way they look and interact with each other. Both Katy and Joe are so sweet and genuine.
We were very blessed to have an extra long private session with them after the wedding and we ate it up. They are a perfect pair and we couldn’t be more excited for them!!
They took off to New Zealand after the knot was tied and I have to admit…we’re just a little jealous. 🙂
Katy and Joe, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your big day. We wish you nothing but the absolute BEST as you start your new life together as husband and wife!!
