Emily & Sam met when her Sorority Sister asked her if she wanted to go over her friends house before they went out dancing one night. Emily agree and while they were there, she met Sam. They exchanged numbers through Facebook (because all the kewl kids are doing it right?) and became instant friends. Emily was not looking for a relationship at the time but Sam won her over won me over with his kind heart.
Emily loves how genuine he is and that he is himself the most when he is around her. Sam is also kind, funny and a hard worker. She admires his work ethic and that he is not afraid to work hard to achieve their dreams.
Sam shared how special and loved that Emily makes him feel. She can make him smile in his hardest times and he adores that she is caring, beautiful and loving. Sam adds Emily is a very caring individual, she can brighten anyone’s day (including his) every single day. She also puts up at with his crazy self and lets him be crazy at any hour of the day. Also with his career their schedule can sometimes be crazy including lots of hours of overtime. She totally understands and never complains.
When Emily shared their proposal story with me, I couldn’t wait to share. It was so sweet! I was afraid I couldn’t do it justice telling it myself so I asked Emily to share. So….without further adieu…refill your coffee and read on.
“Sam and I went on a summer vacation to Cabo San Lucas in July. He insisted that he take his backpack. I though it was weird because I just wanted to take a recycle bag in case anything happened to it.
On Friday, July 27 we went on a zip lining adventure. After the course was over I found Sam standing over by a tree and thought it was weird and asked him what he was doing? He told me he was just looking at the trees. I thought in my head is he about to propose? But he didn’t.
Well, then I told him that our ride was here and it was time to go back to the resort. I was extremely hot and sweaty from the course and all I wanted to do was change and get something in my belly.
So in true Emily fashion I complained and wanted to eat before we did anything else. Sam insisted that we go and walk on the beach in the middle of that day when it was blazing hot outside. We ate first. All I wanted to do was get in the water and I kept telling him okay I am done with this let’s go get in the pool.
Then all of a sudden he turned around and I asked him if he was okay because he looked like he was having a hard time getting up. Right before my eyes he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was all such a blur and honestly I don’t even remember what he said because I was waiting for this day for forever. I just remember him telling me that he loves me so much and he would love for me to be his wife.
He put the ring on my finger and not even two seconds later the backpack with his wallet and keys to the hotel room went flying into the ocean. Our shoes, towels, everything, and we went chasing after them. Thankfully we got them, but it made us laugh so hard. Only us.”
Emily also told me that at one point when she questioned why they had the backpack and he was being protective of it he told her that there was nothing in it and she was welcome to check it out. She later learned that he had rolled up the ring in a pair of socks so that if she had looked inside…she’d have seen nothing out of the ordinary.
Well played Sam my friend, well played!
I have been blessed to have known Austin since he was around 3 years old and to have been able watch him grow up. For some reason, in my mind, he’s been perpetually 6 years old. I have no idea why. Maybe it’s because his mother, Anne, was my amazing Co-Leader in Girl Scouts for years and we had his 6th Birthday out at the Girl Scout Camp. Maybe it’s because he’s still got that same sweet baby face. Either way…these days he’s still 6 but more like 6’2″ or 6’3″ or somewhere around in there.
He’s also engaged to sweet, beautiful Montgomery. Cedar Break Park was the perfect backdrop to capture their engagement photos and kick off the wedding festivities.
When Austin & Montgomery first met she was actually engaged to someone else. They were just friends but ran in the same circles. Eventually Montgomery realized she was head over heels in love with Austin and broke off her engagement. They became inseparable and a couple of years later…here they are…planning their beautiful mountain top ceremony in Colorado set for this July.
Congratulations Austin & Montgomery! Love you and wish you many years of happiness.
An engagement is a
Very precious thing.
It starts with one question,
And is sealed with a ring.
The ring symbolizes a promise
To always cherish.
Two hearts bound together,
Love never to perish.
And this is the soul of
Our wishes for you.
Congratulations on your engagement,
And may your love always be true.
Lots of love to you Holly & Luis! I can’t wait until next April!
The first time Emma saw Josh was at a high school football game. It was their junior year of high school and they were both just 16 at the time. She loved his eyes, his laugh, and his cute dimples.
As soon as she saw him, Emma told one of her friends that she wanted to go out with him. Her friend knew Josh and introduced them but it never got serious. The summer after they graduated… Emma saw him again at church and they reconnected.
Emma loves that he’s so patient with her and loves her unconditionally. She also loves his loyalty, determination and sweetness. Josh fell in love with her caring and loving personality. He loves that she’s smart, loyal, and thoughtful and is smitten with her radiating beauty. They officially became a couple on July 10, 2012 and on July 10, 2017 they will become husband and wife.
This adorable pair loves spending time with their families and doing things like going bowling and to Top Golf however since Josh works out of town their favorite activity is spending quiet time together relaxing.
I can’t wait for the wedding!
The time between Christmas and Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s the season of love! Otherwise known to photographers as engagement season. Wahoo! Beautiful brand new brides are everywhere you look, glowing with hearts full of love & pure joy!
Engagement announcements that were historically held until after the prints were made from the Engagement Portrait Session have been replaced by Instagram posts & hashtags such as #ido and #shesaidyes. The big news is announced within minutes and quickly spreads through family & friends. •
These days the Engagement Sessions are more for the official Save the Date announcements and newly engaged couples are getting all sorts of creative on their own with their social media announcements. More often than not just by using their cell phones.
Here are a few creative DIY announcement ideas because at this point…it’s really all about the ring right?
♥ Take a picture of her hand in his (perhaps in her lap).
♥ Take a close up photo of the new groom to be kissing the blushing brides hand.
♥ Have someone take a photo of her hands around his neck (with the ring hand on top of course)
♥ Take the ring off and design a mock set-up that reflects both of you that says, “I do” or “I said yes.”
♥ A close up of a yourself holding a couple of Starbucks cups with “I” on one and “do” on the other is really cute!
The sky is the limit! Think outside the box and creative ways to make your big announcement that truly reflect the two of you! Always be sure to check for the best light, switch up your angle if you need to and don’t forget your hashtags! *mwah*
Tamsen and Eric met through mutual friends of Tamsen’s ex. The sparks between them were so strong from the get-go that rumors started to spread in their circles long before they ever actually became an official couple. The sparks eventually ignited a fire which quickly became a life long love.
These two lovebirds love to cuddle on the couch, watch t.v. & movies but also love the great outdoors and hunting and fishing together.
Eric thinks (as every groom should) that his bride to be is beautiful & brilliant and says that she takes his breath away. He adores her personality and his heart melts with the way he way she looks at him.
Tamsen fell in love with how funny he is and his unyielding determination in life. Her eyes sparkle as she talks about how caring, strong, and courageous he is as well.
One weekend Eric planned a romantic trip to Galveston for the two of them. He planned a romantic dinner at Rudy & Paco’s and booked a beautiful historic hotel. After dinner they ventured over to Pleasure Pier and were sad to discover it was closed. Instead they decided just to talk a walk down the beach. When Tamsen turned around she saw Eric down on one knee. Fast forward a few months and they are having a great time taking engagement photos, laughing, snuggling and looking forward to a beautiful future.
Tamsen has all sorts of special things in store for their wedding and I can’t wait!
