A childhood home holds many special memories. Katy’s childhood home is a traditional Southern home surrounded by beautiful acreage, family and lots of love. Backyard weddings are wonderfully unique from other types of weddings. They are so relaxed and welcoming. It seemed only fitting that they would start their new life together in a place that they hold so dear to their hearts.
Katy and Joe said “I Do” in the pasture nearest her home. Katy and her bridesmaids (which happened to be her beautiful twin sisters) giggled as they dressed and shared mimosas in her mother’s room….the same room they had known practically their whole lives.
There are moments that planning a backyard wedding can be overwhelming but as soon as you take that first step down the aisle, the hard work and stress is forgotten because you’re about to marry the love of your life!
The backdrop that they hand built using old wood from her Grandmother’s barn was breathtaking and the bench her Mother hand made for them out of a bed frame was something straight out of Southern Living Magazine!
Katy & Joe’s ceremony was amazing & I didn’t want it to end! Their love for one another is so visible in the way they look and interact with each other. Both Katy and Joe are so sweet and genuine.
We were very blessed to have an extra long private session with them after the wedding and we ate it up. They are a perfect pair and we couldn’t be more excited for them!!
They took off to New Zealand after the knot was tied and I have to admit…we’re just a little jealous. 🙂
Katy and Joe, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your big day. We wish you nothing but the absolute BEST as you start your new life together as husband and wife!!
