Mother Nature threw one obstacle after another our way on Andrea & Derek’s wedding day. First it was overcast, foggy, hazy and threatening to storm. The ocean waves were misting on the beautiful bride, the bridesmaids, and of course, my lens. I was really worried that one of the girls might slip on the deck floor which was covered in a slick film of condensation but the wedding went perfectly. Afterwards she could not decide whether to be bright and sunny or overcast but nothing she threw their way could dampen their happiness or their day.
Andrea & Derek chose the patio at Murdocks in Galveston as the perfect location to start their lives together. Murdocks is a very special location to them as well as to their families. The weather didn’t bother them a bit. They never stopped smiling and they lit up the deck. The waves & mist would not allow us to spend much time near the water but they were more than happy to take photos with their beloved Murdock pier in the background and they turned out amazing!
These two were just so much fun. It’s a long story but I literally met them when I showed up to photograph their special day. Instantly, I felt like I’d known them forever. The entire wedding party was an absolute blast! Practically every single photo I took during their wedding and reception was full of smiles and laughter. The excitement from everyone in attendance was palpable. By the time I left, I felt like part of the family.
Congratulations Andrea & Derek! I would wish you two lovebirds all the best but you don’t need it. I know you will have a long and happy life together!
